ACCSESS Lunch Webinar Series

ACCSESS Lunch Webinar – Revisiting the comparison of low- versus mid-pressure transport of CO₂ based on industrial considerations and detailed cost evaluations

Accellerating the implementation of transport solutions is imperative to reach the required quantities of CO₂ captured, transported and permanently stored necessary to achieve the net-zero by 2050 targets. One path to increased implementation is to reduce the cost of transport. A techno-economic comparison of transport of liquid CO₂ at low-pressure versus medium-pressure via ships, and inland transport via trucks and barges shows that low-pressure shipping is more economic than medium-pressure in most cases and future scenarios, whereas there is little difference between the transport pressure in the inland value chains.

In this webinar, Ingeborg Treu Røe, Research Scientist at SINTEF Energy Research, will provide guidance for the development of the CCS transport chains, highlighting possible pathways to swift deployment of CCS to achieve the quantities CO₂ captured, transported and stored necessary to reach net-zero by 2050.

When: 6 May 2025, 12:00 – 12:40

Presenter: Ingeborg Treu Røe (SINTEF)

About ACCSESS Lunch Webinars

ACCSESS Lunch Webinars are a series of 20-minute presentations, followed by a Q&A session. The presentation will be recorded, but not the Q&A and discussion that follows. You can view the recordings from the webinars on YouTube.
