On Monday 28 October, ACCSESS PhD Candidate Anna Hörbe Emanuelsson (Chalmers) will present her licentiate thesis: Blueprint for the deployment of capital-intensive technologies for the decarbonisation of energy-intensive industries. This work was conducted as part of ACCSESS. The seminar is open to the public.
Anna’s work focuses on assessing the large-scale implementation of capital-intensive technologies, considering the entire value chain from raw materials to end products. Her results indicate that while low-carbon materials are more expensive and face market competition from cheaper carbon-intensive alternatives, the cost increase for end products is relatively small. She proposes a Value Chain Transition Fund (VCTF) as a means to overcome the financial and market barriers to transitioning to low-carbon practices by supporting investments in zero-emission technologies.
