ACCSESS Lunch Webinar Series

ACCSESS Lunch Webinar – An overview of the EU-funded ACCSESS project, providing access to cost-efficient, replicable, safe and flexible CCS

To reach the climate goals, we need to significantly reduce man-made CO2 emissions. One of the measures to achieve deep emission cuts is to capture, transport and permanently store CO2 from industrial emitters, a family of technologies known as CCS. If the CO2 that is captured is partly or fully biogenic, CCS can contribute to net removal of CO2 from the atmosphere. This is known as negative emissions or Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR).

The ACCSESS project is investigating CDR in four industrial sectors: pulp and paper, cement, waste-to-energy and biorefineries. The project comprises pilot testing of the CO2 solutions by Saipem capture technology with a Rotary Packed Bed absorber, and of mineralisation of industrial alkaline waste. Another feature of the project is the techno-economic, regulatory and environmental analysis of CO2 capture, transport and storage chains.

In this webinar, Project Coordinator Kristin Jordal and Project Manager Rubén M. Montañes from SINTEF Energy Research jointly present the ongoing research in ACCSESS.

When: 9 April 2024, 12:00 – 12:40

Presenters: Kristin Jordal and Rubén M. Montañes (SINTEF Energy Research)

About ACCSESS Lunch Webinars

ACCSESS Lunch Webinars are a series of 20-minute presentations, followed by a Q&A session. The presentation will be recorded, but not the Q&A and discussion that follows. You can view the recordings from the webinars on YouTube.
